The Inspector of Schools cum Member Secretary, District Selection Committee, Darrang has released an official advertisement inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam for the recruitment of Principal vacancies in Provincialised Higher Secondary Schools under Darrang district.


Applications are invited from the eligible Indian citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and permanent residents of Assam in prescribed Standard Form of Application for filling up the vacant posts of Principal of different Provincialised Higher Secondary Schools under Darrang district in the scale of pay of Rs. 30,000/- to 1,10,000/- plus Grade Pay of Rs. 13,300/- PM (under Pay Band-4) and other allowances as admissible under rules.

Eligibility Criteria

● Educational Qualification: 

T(i) The candidate must be M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com from a recognized University (duly recognized by UGC) with B.T./ B.Ed. degree from any Teacher Training Institute (duly recognized by NCTE) and the candidate must have uniformly good academic career. In respect of Hindi Teachers having master degree qualification, the Hindi Sikshan Parangat and Hindi Sikshan Nishant shall be considered equivalent to B.T/ B.Ed.


(ii) As per the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study centre in the State and such study centres if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department. However, degrees / diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered as valid for the purpose of employment.


(iii) The candidate must have rendered at least 15 years of service as Post Graduate Teacher in any of the Provincialised Higher Secondary Schools/ H.S. & M.P. Schools and Senior Secondary Schools or


(iv) The candidate must have rendered at least 5 years of service as Vice-Principal in any of the Provincialised Higher Secondary Schools/ H.S. & M.P. Schools or


(v) The candidate must have rendered at least 17 years of teaching experience as Graduate Teacher in any Provincialised High School/Higher Secondary School/ H.S. & M.P. School or in combination of such schools.


(vi) The age of the candidate must not be more than 57 years as on 01.01.2026.


(vii) The candidate must possess commanding personality, administrative ability, leadership skills and integrity.
● Experience Requirements:○ At least 15 years of teaching experience as a Post Graduate Teacher, OR
○ At least 5 years of service as a Vice-Principal, OR
○ At least 17 years of teaching experience as a Graduate Teacher in any Provincialised High/Higher Secondary School.
● Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 57 years as of January 1, 2026.


Terms and condition:

i. The duly filled up prescribed application should reach to the undersigned within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of this advertisement.
ii. Application must be submitted through proper channel.
iii. Reservation of Vacancies shall be maintained as per existing rule / act in force.
iv. Details of vacancy will be notified in due course of time.
v. The service and teaching experience acquired in a school during Provincialised period shall be counted. The period rendered prior to provincialisation of the school shall not be counted


Note:

i. The Assam Secondary Education (Provincialiscd Schools) Service Rules of 2018, as amended prescribes that “the candidate must have rendered at least 17 years of teaching experience as Graduate Teacher in any High School/ High Madrassa School/ Higher Secondary School / Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School or in combination of such School”.


ii. The Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service Rules of 2018, as amended defines the Graduate Teacher as “Graduate Teacher means and includes the category of Assistant Teacher, Classical Teacher of Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary (erstwhile Junior College) or High Madrassa or a High School including amalgamated Higher Secondary and Senior Secondary and High Schools for whose appointment the minimum qualification is Graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce from recognized University including Demonstrator of a provincialised Higher Secondary School or a Senior Secondary School”.


iii. The Graduate Teacher/ Demonstrator whose entry qualification is graduate, have minimum 17 years of teaching experience in the Graduate Scale of Pay and holding a Graduate Post in any Provincialised Secondary School shall eligible to apply for the post of Principal.


iv. The eligibility of Additional Contractual Teachers, whose services have been regularized through Special Recruitment Drive in the year 2025, shall be considered as per the eligibility criteria adhered in the aforesaid Service Rules i.e. the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service Rules of 2018, as amended.
