District Legal Services Authority, Cachar- Driver Post
As per approval of the Hon’ ble Executive Chairman, Assam State Legal Services Authority, Guwahati, conveyed vide No. ASLSA 192/2019/615 dated 19.03.2026, applications are invited in Standard Form from eligible candidates for filling up of the following post on Contractual basis for a period of one year in the establishment of the District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar, as shown below :

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1. The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India. 2. The Candidate must have a valid LMV Driving Licence issued by competent authority. The Driving Licence must be issued at least 3 years before the date of publication of this advertisement. 3. The candidate must not be less than 18 years and above 40 years of age. Age criteria shall be guided by government guidelines and the determinative date shall be 01-01-2026. 4. Minimum Educational Qualification of the candidate must be Class X(HSLC) standard from a recognised Board. 5. Preference will be given to experienced candidates. 6. Candidate must posses a valid Employment Registration certificate issued by the Govt. of Assam. |
HOW TO APPLY:
The intending candidates will have to submit their application in sealed envelope addressed to “The Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Cachar” Court Road, Sadarghat, Silchar, Cachar, Assam, Pin- 788001 either personally or through post on or before the last date of submission i.e., 02/06/2026 till 05:00 PM, in the “Drop Box” placed at the 1st Floor of the O/o District Legal Services Authority, Cachar. 1. The applicants must superscribe “Application for the post of Driver (Contractual)” on the top of the envelope and must write their WHATSAPP/MOBILE No. and Email ID on the top of the Standard Form in red ink. 2. The applications must be accompanied with: a) Two Copies of recent passport size coloured photographs. b) Self attested copies of all testimonials in support of educational qualification, Driving Licence and Employment Registration certificate. c) Experience certificate, if any. 3. Candidates already in Govt. Service must apply through proper channel |
SELECTION PROCESS:
Stage 1 | Driving Test: 30 marks The Driving Test will be on the segments namely Starting, Driving, Parking and after driving (10 marks for each segment totalling 30 marks). In order to qualify in the Driving Test, a candidate shall have to secure a minimum of 15 marks out of the total 30 marks. |
| Stage 2 | Viva-voce: 30 marks On the basis of sum total of marks obtained in Driving Test and Viva-Voce, the final select list will be prepared. Final selection will be made on the basis of the sum total marks obtained by the candidate in the driving test and viva-voce. Where more than one candidate obtain same grand total marks (Marks of Driving Test and Viva-Voce), the candidate who obtains more marks in the Driving Test will get preference. Where marks obtained by such candidates in the driving test are also same, then the candidate who is senior in age will get preference. |
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The Individual Call Letter will be sent to the eligible candidates through electronic mode i.e., through WhatsApp or Email Id. Accordingly, candidates are mandatorily required to provide their WhatsApp Mobile Number and Email Id as instructed earlier. 2. The candidates are advised to visit the official website of District Judiciary Cachar (https://cachar.dcourts.gov.in) regularly to get updated information or instructions. 3. Candidates will be responsible for any mistakes made by him/her in the application form. 4. Application received after last date of submission or without proper supporting documents or unsigned or incomplete in any manner will be summarily rejected. 5. No person, who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having his spouse living or who, having his spouse living, has entered into for contracting a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to any of the aforementioned post. 6. The admission of candidates at all stages of the selection process shall be purely provisional and subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility criteria. If, on verification at any time before or after the selection process, it is found that the candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility condition, his/her candidature shall stands cancelled without any notice. Mere calling of candidate to driving test/interview etc or issuance of admit cards/call letter etc. does not mean acceptance of candidature of any candidate which shall be further scrutinize at every stage and the District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar reserves the right to reject the candidature of any candidate at any time. 7. If any candidate is found canvassing directly or indirectly, his/her candidature will be rejected. 8. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in any stages of the selection process. 9. The District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar reserves the right to cancel the advertisement, alter any terms and conditions of the advertisement at any stage. 10. All other matters which are not specifically provided in this advertisement shall be as decided by the District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar. |
