Assam D.El.Ed. Admission 2026 – Online Apply for SCERT PET
State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has released the official notification for admission into 2 - Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for the session 2026 – 2028. The course will be conducted in the NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET/ CTE/ Normal School/ BTC/ Pvt. TEls) of the state for the academic session 2026 – 2028. Interested and eligible candidates must apply online first for Pre-Entry Test (PET) – 2026 for admission in to this course.
Pre Entry Test is a competitive test among the permanent residents of Assam to get selection into 2-year D.El.Ed. course in NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutions of Assam under SCERT, Assam. As per the recommendation of Justice Verma Commission, the conduct of PET is a mandate for admission in D.El.Ed. course. From 2016 onwards, Pre-Entry-Test (PET) has been conducted to select candidates for admission into D.El.Ed. (PSTE) Course.

Eligibility Criteria for SCERT D.El.Ed Admission
| Resident-ship: | Candidates who are permanent resident of Assam can only apply for this course. |
| Educational Qualification: | The applicant must have passed Higher Secondary (+2) or its equivalent examination from recognized Boards/Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra/ optional/ fourth subject.
# For candidates belonging to SC/ST/ST(H) category there will be relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate. |
| Age Limit: | The applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July, 2026. There will be a relaxation by 2 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) & ST(H) Categories. |
| Reservation of Seats: | Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/Person With Disability (PWD) will be as per existing Govt. norms. |
Application Fee
| Candidates have to pay Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred only) as application fee for all categories through online . Fee may be paid through Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Wallet. |
Admit Cards
Candidates will be able to download his/ her SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET Admit Card from the website, https://scertpet.co.in/ from 5th July 2026 by entering his/her Application Number and Date of Birth generated during online submission of application. Venue for Pre Entry Test (PET): The Venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 will be allocated in the “District” selected by the candidates during online submission of application form, which will be indicated in the ADMIT card of the candidates. Seats will be allotted to the selected candidates in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) of the “District” in which the candidates choose to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2026. |

| Candidates who want to enroll for SCERT Assam 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course for the session 2026 – 2028 may apply online by visiting official website of SCERT Assam. They may follow below mentioned steps to apply online.
Scroll down, go to Important Web-Links section . Click on the "Online Application Form" and complete the registration process by clicking "New Registration". In the next stage, click on "Online Application Form" Link and Login. Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents. At the end, pay the application fee and submit the form. Don't forget to take a print out of the application form . |

Exam Pattern of D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test (PET)
| Candidates aspiring to take up teaching as a profession at elementary level may apply to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET) – 2026 for admission into 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course. Here we will provide the question pattern, syllabus and all other details about PET 2026.
The Test shall have two Sections: Section-I and Section-II. Other details are as mentioned below. Total Marks: 100 Time: 2 hours Type of questions: MCQ Number of question: 100 questions Mark carried by each question: 1 Negative marking: For every incorrect response, 0.25 mark shall be deducted. |
Syllabus of SCERT PET 2026
Section-I
General English: Vocabulary, tenses, verbs, preposition, comprehension, voice-change, narration, adverbs, synonyms, antonyms. General Knowledge: Current affairs, who is who, abbreviations, constitution of India, History of Assam, Inventions and discoveries, Sports. Art and culture, Every day Science, World Organizations, Geography of India, Educational Commissions and Committees, New Educational Initiatives, Educational Organizations. Reasoning: Logical and analytical reasoning, pattern etc.

Merit List
| District wise merit list will be prepared and allotment will be made in Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) in the districts as per merit and availability of seats. In each district, there will be reservation of 30% of total seats for candidates having Science stream and 70% of total seats for Arts & other streams. |
